He brews under a full moon in a circle of salt. Pearl dust and asphodel infused with lavender and magic and bound with honey. A sprinkle of starthistle and cinnamon, the incantation whispered, his elixir complete. He visits the greenhouse that very night moonlight plentiful and bright to harvest fresh silverweed and thyme. Then to the forest he walks in search of bloodroot moonstone, and midnight blooming foxglove. His cauldron awaits. Belladonna and bone soaked then steeped in a mixture of fairy wings, rosewater and a drop of wormwood essence. Mulling the concoction until a fine mist rises and sparkles. Decanted his potions shimmer, vials of the unimaginable, the impossible- liquid luck shrouded in gold, the swirling scarlet of love, the amber hued solution that will.. bend the will of the drinker… to his. He stands back a moment, smiling to himself, at his creations, gleaming in the torchlight, luminous in their perfection. His tools to enchant, to intoxicate and ensnare.
He doesn't want it-
needs it- nothing else matters
his soul obsession
Classic addiction-
not that he would admit it
until infection
Slow respiration
so hollow from starvation
craving salvation
Resuscitation
his heart still beating- beating
and now we're waiting.
The day was long
and beautiful,
sun shining through
cool morning mist
and the riot of colors
dripping off the sunset.
I lay here...
just thinking,
remembering...
your sleepy eyes first thing this morning,
how they almost sparkled;
how warm the bed was
with you beside me.
I lay here...
playing back all the times
you laughed.
I laughed too, so much
and it was brilliant!
We kept walking
long after
my feet were sore.
We were hand in hand,
eye to eye,
cheek to cheek.
I lay here...
with the memory of your kiss
keeping me awake.
My EverythingComposed by Puabi
You are my every thing;
My sun in the morning,
My moon at night.
My messenger of good fortune;
Now all is right.
The air around us is calm and warm;
The wind is low and softly blows.
And, in our tight embrace,
When I see your face,
My heart, like a bird, takes flight.
I adore you, beloved!
Indoors, Outdoors For Puabi
Outdoors, the wind coldly blows;
It chills everything it touches.
Indoors, a soft, tender breeze;
It thrills me as it touches.
Chilling streams of rain crash down,
As the wind outdoors is blowing.
Indoors, only sweet, warm drops streak down;
A tender stream of tears flowing.
A light velvety feel upon my chest;
A soft whisper calling.
The glow of two moist, fresh eyes shines forth;
Her sweet smile reflects it.
Tender AdmirationFor Puabi
Lying so close together;
Locked tightly in our embrace.
Eyes looking long into eyes;
A warm, happy glow in her face.
Whispered vows of devotion;
Hearts sharing their warmth.
She wipes tears from her two eyes,
To whisper how much she adores.
"I adore you so much, beloved!
You are always with Puabi!"
My reward for my heart-held promise;
Together forever,
Apart never.
Here and now on the earth;
After death, in space.
UndyingFor Puabi
Who really can tell?
When some still believe
That the 'soul' lives on,
And whatever that may be
But feeling and emotion
Lingering still,
Long after mind and body are gone?
And long after dark,
When living mind and body rest,
It will express itself
As it knows best.
So night and day,
By time unbound,
She tells me what she must tell;
Her relief, her joy and thrill,
In the love that she has found.
My SunFor Puabi
Dark, gathering clouds
Chilling, heavy wind
All are outdoors and beyond.
While they affect those who come around,
I leave them far behind,
For someone of whom I am fond.
In days like these,
She is always found;
My ever-glowing sun.
Fever DreamFor WordofChen
Midst the slow, growing burn
Deep down, inside my throat,
The flesh within turns red;
I really have to wonder, Is it my turn?
Will I soon be dead?
I close my eyes,
I try to sleep;
But finally, and instead
Of dreaming of my getting well,
I dream of a fate of torment and of pain
In my own hell.
